LUKE HAWKINS · WINCHESTER, HAMPSHIRE

Charity website design, refresh and support in Hampshire.

Help people find support, understand your work and take the next step. I work with charities and community organisations on new WordPress websites, focused refreshes and ongoing support, with a scope shaped around your priorities and available budget.

Put your budget towards the changes that matter

  • Make support information easy to find for people who may need help quickly.
  • Give potential volunteers and supporters a clear route to contact your team or get involved.
  • Keep routine updates manageable for staff and volunteers with WordPress and a practical handover.

How the project works

  1. We discuss your audiences, budget and the most important tasks: finding support, contacting the team or learning how to help.
  2. I propose an agreed scope and quote, including any third-party costs. A focused refresh or phased approach may reduce the initial work needed.
  3. I complete the agreed work, check the affected pages and forms, and hand over content editing. Further support is quoted separately.

What is included?

  • An agreed plan for a new website, refresh or support task
  • Clear routes to information, contact and ways to get involved
  • Mobile layouts and readable content structure within the agreed scope
  • Checks of headings, link text, keyboard access and affected forms
  • Page titles and descriptions for new or refreshed pages as agreed
  • A handover appropriate to the staff or volunteers updating the site

Work directly with your developer.

I’m Luke, a freelance web designer and WordPress developer based in Winchester. My experience includes development at Rooster Marketing and Elliotts Builders Merchant. You speak to the person carrying out the work.

I explain the proposed work, agree the scope and price, and keep you informed as the project progresses.

Questions before you enquire

Do you offer lower-cost charity websites?

I aim to make the scope affordable by prioritising essential pages, reusing suitable parts of an existing site and phasing work where useful. Share your budget so we can discuss a realistic quote; no fixed discount is promised.

Can you refresh our website instead of replacing it?

Yes, we can discuss a focused refresh of navigation, content, layouts or contact routes. I review what you have before recommending the work.

Can volunteers update the website?

A WordPress handover can cover the agreed pages and routine updates. Tell me who will look after the content so we can plan an appropriate editing setup.

Can you help with donations and accessibility?

We can scope donation links or tools and practical accessibility improvements. Payment-provider fees and any specialist accessibility audit are separate. A website build alone does not guarantee accessibility compliance.

Other ways I can help

Based in Winchester, working with organisations in Southampton and across Hampshire. Remote projects welcome throughout the UK.

Tell me what you need.

Tell me about your charity, who uses your website and the information they need most. Share an existing site, your main problems, available budget and who will maintain the content.
